2026年6月15日、南イリノイ大学のLahiru Jayakody先生（Associate Professor）が神戸大学を訪問されました。
当日は、蓮沼誠久教授のオフィスにおいて、両研究者がそれぞれ進めている最新の研究内容やバイオものづくりに関する最近の動向について、活発な情報交換が行われました。さらに、今後の共同研究の推進や、所属研究組織間における連携強化に向けた具体的な方策についても意見が交わされました。
その後、蓮沼研究室の見学が行われ、本学の研究環境や先端的な実験設備について視察されました（写真参照）。

On June 15, 2026, Dr. Lahiru Jayakody, Associate Professor, from Southern Illinois University, USA, visited Kobe University.
During the visit, Dr. Jayakody met with Professor Tomohisa Hasunuma in his office, where they engaged in active discussions on their respective latest research activities as well as recent trends in bio-manufacturing. They also exchanged views on concrete strategies for promoting future collaborative research and strengthening collaborative between their research institutions.
Following the meeting, Dr. Jayakody toured the Hasunuma Laboratory and observed the university’s research environment and advanced experimental facilities (see photos).
